James (Rusty)'s Story
Life after high school.....
I went to Hancock College in Santa Maria, CA. and played football with 3 other high school teammates, Bill Nua, Bob Brownell and Paul Hammock. We had a undefeated season and one of our coaches was the now famous NFL Hall of Fame Coach and TV analyst John Madden.
I had the opportunity to take a early retirement from the telephone business in '93 after a 30 year carreer. I lived and worked as an engineer and manager in 5 different western states. Following retirement in Washington State my wife Terri and I relocated to southern California in '95. We made the move to improve some health issues. I was in need of a warmer and dryer climate.
Terri and I have been married since '82 and both have children from previous marriages. She has 3 and I have one and there are 9 grandchildren. We live close to the 2 youngest grand children and enjoy spoiling them as much as we can, lol.

lley, CA in a gated retirement community surrounded by a golf course and other amenities. We both play golf although my play has been limited as of late because of health. Terri's plays has dropped off as she spends a lot of her time caring for me.
Since retiring I've had many surgeries associated with my spine and now have limited motion in my neck. I had a heart attack and open heart surgery and have continued heart care. my overall recovery process has been slow but I'm doing well.
During my working carreer I lost contact with many high school and college friends. Since returning to California I've enjoyed reconnecting and re-establishing friendships. Bill Nua and I have remained in contact all these years and visit each other occasionally. Bill and his wife Dal now live in Camas, WA.
